Magnolia Estates

Magnolia Estates is a pristine coffee plantation located on the foothills of Arji Hills due west of Virajpet town in Coorg, Karnataka. The estate is on the main Coorg-Kerala highway about seven kilometers away from Virajpet.

The estate spans nearly eighty acres of rolling hills planted with Robusta coffee, pepper and a variety of other plants. Coffee plants bloom in late February-early March every year, blanketing the entire estate in white flowers bringing snow to Coorg. The flowers give way to coffee pods which mature over the year turning from deep green to cherry red by November-December. Coffee picking is done in the month of January after which the coffee is dried before being shipped for processing.

The Arji Hills area has an environment and climate of a hill-station. The climate is generally cooler than the plains of Coorg and the weather patterns change frequently. The spring season of March to June sees a mild climate while the rainy season in the area is heavy. Fall and winter seasons are pleasant and cool. The hill side location of Villa Magnolia offers beautiful views of the surrounding valleys during sunrise, sunset and blankets of mist when temperatures fall.

The environment at Magnolia Estates has all the resemblances of a nature reserve. The estate is full of tall trees, two lakes, walking and hiking trails all around. The estate is also home to about scores of different varieties of birds, several deer and other animals.
