Upon purchasing the property in the summer of 2007, the Manchala family spent several weeks a year at the estate,
In 2012, the family felt that the beauty of Magnolia and the hills around Virajpet should be shared with travelers from around the world. Their vision was to create a nature resort nestled in the coffee plantation but with an architecture and ambience unique to Coorg and South India. Maj. Manchala visualized the architecture and personally designed the entire resort. Construction began in earnest a few years later. Mrs. Manchala is an ardent fan of Indian architecture and interiors and decided to present that tradition at Magnolia in a unique way. She went about collecting antique furniture, wooden artifacts, carvings, pillars from old demolished homes etc. and spent three years restoring them. Their children participated in the design of various concepts, particularly the nature oriented themes.
We invite you to enjoy this luxurious estate and resort to its fullest. We hope you fall in love as we have and come back again and again.
