Suggested Attire

Magnolia has a semi-hill station climate with warm springs and summers, tropical monsoons, and cool to chilly winters. The resort is located at the edge of the western ghat forests. Here are our suggestions for attire:

General

For professionals who enjoy the extreme outdoors or guests who simply want to enjoy walks around the estate and neighboring areas, we strongly recommend adequate sportswear such as tracksuits, sweat pants, jerseys, and hiking or sports shoes. Since we are on the border of a nature reserve, socks are a must for one and all with a choice to wear when needed.

Spring

Is a most enjoyable season with misty dawns, clear skies, chirping birds, and mist again in the evenings. Light cotton attire for day time and a light sweater or shawl for the evening is recommended.

Summer

Summers from April to June can be warm to hot although there is enough breeze and cool places to chill. Light cotton shirts, t-shirts, and shorts are adequate for summer.

Monsoon

Perumbadi region where Magnolia is located receives one of the highest rainfalls in all of Coorg. We typically close the resort for several weeks between July and August. The open season during monsoon is not for the fainthearted. The resort provides umbrellas to all guests. We, however, recommend raincoats, sweaters, and boots for adventure seekers.

Winter

Misty mornings and evenings, cool and chilly weather create a perfect mood in a hill-station setting. Guests will enjoy tranquility at its best. We recommend heavy sweaters, shawls, shoes, and socks to stay warm at all times.

Cycling

We suggest comfortable outdoor or athletic clothing (breathable, moisture-wicking fabrics) while biking outdoors in magnolia. Bike shorts or other loose bottoms that allow for ease of movement while pedaling are recommended. Sunglasses or goggles are suggested for eye protection but not necessary.
